appearance
Leah has the russet skin tone and dark chocolage hair color that is common to the Native American line. Her eyes are a warm and soft caramel hue. She's been told that her eyes convey her every emotion. When she's happy or excited they're molten and sparkling, but when she's sad or disappointed they're a flat and boring brown. She's got an infectious smile which she is almost always is wearing. It's very rare to not see Leah smiling these days, though she has her moments. Though she can be a bit of a tom-boy, she enjoys dresing up and being 'girlie' as she puts it. She cleans up very nicely, though she doens't do it often and not for just anyone. Her casual dress usually consists of a pair of comfortable jeans, a tee shirt and a pair of sneakers or sandals.

history
Leah Clearwater is a Native American woman of the Quiletue tribe, around the same age as Sam Uley and her cousin Emily Young. While she likes being "one of the boys" she also rather enjoys the finer, more girlie things in life. She likes going shopping with her girlfriends and having a good time.

She was born in 1987 to Harry and Sue Clearwater. The first child of the couple, her brother Seth followed a few years later. From the start of her life, she was praised for her beauty and intelligence. She was given most everything she ever wanted or needed. She was a truly blessed girl, and grew up into a beautiful teenager with all teenage tendencies intact. She was kind, but had a streak for gossiping, going to the mall, and being on the phone all the time.

During her freshman year and before his change, Sam and Leah started dating. They fell in love, but then Sam changed into a werewolf. He disappeared for two weeks and Leah was frantic with worry. She and her family spent the entire time looking for him, fearing that he had gotten into an accident in the woods. When he finally did return, he did not explain his absence and people began to assume that he had gotten into something shady like drugs. Leah stuck by him, even though she was frustrated by the secrets she knew he was keeping from her.

Eventually, Leah’s cousin Emily came to visit her and Leah introduced her to Sam. Sam imprinted on Emily and was forced to break up with Leah. This broke her heart not only because she loved Sam, but because Emily had always been like a sister to her. Leah was forced to sit back and watch the love of her life court her cousin.

But then something utterly unexpected happened and Leah and Seth both changed into werewolves. But this transformation was not for the best. Not only did Leah finally understand what had happened to Sam and why he had left her for Emily, but the change was such a shock to her father Harry that it gave him a heart attack, causing him to die.

Leah is currently the only female in the werewolf pack and she used their mental connection to punish Sam and her pack brothers with the memories of the torment she suffered and purposefully thinking about things the rest of the pack would rather forget. The pack, therefore, hates her; they are unable to see the pain that she truly is in.

personality
Leah Clearwater isn't your typical girlie girl. She's very into sports and cars, though that doesn't make her at all butch. She's the Rosalie Hale of the Quiletues if you will. She dated Sam Uley, the self proclaimed werewolf leader, when she was younger and was dumped by him when he imprinted on her cousin Emily. Though she acted like it meant nothing to her, it really meant the world. It crushed her and still, to this day, pulls at her very heart strings.

Though she likes to keep the facade of being tough, she likes going shopping, spending time with her girlfriends, getting all dressed up and being a girl. She plays to her sex's strengths very well, though she's anything but a slut. She's a very independant person. She'd rather do things on her own than work in a group, though she knows how to work on a team if need be.

picture this
It was normal for Leah Clearwater to sit on the shores of La Push Beach by herself, looking out over the cold, dark waters just as she was today. What wasn't normal, however, was for her to be here and long so much for company, yet at the same time be glad she was alone. No what was normal for Leah was the exact opposite of what was going through her mind right then. These were the times she let herself go. When she would let all her emotions flood over the levvy she'd put up years ago. This was when she was glad to be alone but wished for someone at the same time.

Leah reached out to her left and grabbed a handful of stones. Slowly, she transferred them to her other hand and began absentmindedly tossing them out into the waters. For the most part, Leah tried to repress the pain she felt on a day to day basis. Her heart had been broken long enough that the ache it caused was expected. At first she'd been caught up in the feeling, but soon she got used to it. Now it was to a point where, if it went away, she might almost miss it. Almost.

She shook her head to dislodge her thoughts just as water brimmed her eyes. She wouldn't cry. She was tougher than that. Crying was weak, and Leah Clearwater was anything but weak. No, she'd gone this long without showing any signs of pain, she could go on a bit longer. Taking a deep breath she wiped the tears from her eyes, mentally smacking herself for even getting that close to crying. At least no one would see you if you had started, she reasoned with herself, chuckling dryly.

She tilted her head back slightly to look up at the sky. It was an almost unfamiliar blue, which brought a light smile to Leah's face. The residents of La Push and Forks were used to seeing gray, dreery, overcast days so it was cause for celebration whenever the sun came out. Looking at the few, puffy, white clouds in the sky she contimplated what could be done.

Something fun. Something that would cause there to be laughter and much merriment. Leah needed something bright and cheerful to brighten her mood right now. She mulled through some of the usual options- movie marathon, cook outs, bonfires on the beach- and came to the conclusion that this was a decision best reached in a group. Standing up, she wiped her blue jean shorts of sand and made her way back to the light blue bicycle she'd parked just off the shoreline.
